The 12 Step Golf Program Continues on this "Fairway Less Traveled"

We have done a great deal of work to bring us to this phase of our journey.

Our readiness and willingness are of great importance, as we continue the work set out before us.

Are we willing to have God remove these shortcomings? Who will I be if I surrender my pride and ego? Can God really work with me? Can I really let go of who I think I am?

We pray to become willing. We ask God for the strength and courage to keep moving forward.

And we do keep moving forward. . . . . . . . .

“Fear is the mind killer. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

Frank Herbert

6. We were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.

"Are you willing to go to any lengths to stop the defects that have tortured yourself and others? Do you need to have the lying , cheating and all around bad misconduct taken away? Can you really look anyone in the face when you shave that stroke off your score? Is your handicap true and honest?"

Ready to Remove Defects

7. We humbly asked Him to remove these shortcomings.

"After having tested yourself to your readiness, you can now ask your Higher Power to remove these defects of your character. All the steps demand rigorous honesty. You cannot approach recovery like you have your golf game.?"

Asked for Defects to be Removed

"Your daily life is nothing else but an expression of your spiritual condition."

Thaddeus Golas

8. We made a list of all those we have harmed and became willing to make amends to them all.

"Are there times you couldn’t make a little league game because of golf? Have you lied to get to the driving range or the course? Who has suffered while you have your little tantrums? Who have you blamed for your poor performance?"

Listed Those We Have Harmed

9. Made direct amends to such people or institutions wherever possible.

"Discretion would be the way to contemplate the direct amends. When you can trust yourself to make things right, atone for your lack of character. Please move forward.?"

Made Direct Amends

"God has not brought you all this way to make a fool of you or his plans for you."
